As busy professionals, our schedules are often filled to the brim with meetings and tasks to complete. We can get so caught up with work that we might even forget our all-important lunch and power through dinner as well. Alas, we can only do so much given the 24 hours we have in a day. While time management is vital, being productive is another matter in its entirety.
Enter time batching.
Time batching, or task batching, is a very valuable time-management technique that I’ve implemented into my daily routines (LinkedIn Power Hour, etc.). It is the act of grouping similar task together for a more seamless workflow that brings out the optimal productivity and concentration, and at the same time, avoid multi-tasking.
Did you know that multi-tasking can lead to a drop in productivity? As much as 40%. And multi-taskers are prone to make 50% more errors when completing a task. We sure wouldn’t want that do we?

Some days, we feel like we can take on the busiest of workdays with ease while on another, we feel lost and overwhelmed. Do not fret because, with time batching, a structure of order and routine will form naturally, with a little practice, of course.
