My Top Reads of the Past Week: Reaching the Next Level

This past week, I was reminded of a fantastic quote: "The path to success is to take massive, determined action". – Tony Robbins.

I’ve found that this rings especially true for today’s modern corporate warriors. Chipping away at their mountain of to-do’s, wading through an ocean of information, all the while distracted by incessant notifications. It’s no wonder that our focus is being challenged. And yet, to reach the next level of performance and success, we still need to take clear, definitive steps towards our goals.

For this week’s digest, I’ve included some really great links from the past week, as well as one of my favourite videos about maximizing your time and effort.

1.    Small Talk Is an Overrated Way to Build Relationships with Your Employees - The relationships that you form with each of your direct reports do not follow the rules of other relationships in our lives; they require a careful balancing act.

2.    How AI Will Change the Way We Make Decisions - Economic theory suggests that AI will substantially raise the value of human judgment. People who display good judgment will become more valuable, not less.

3.    Your Customers Still Want to Talk to a Human Being - As brands prioritize this digital experience, they often overlook a simple fact: communicating by voice is faster, easier, and more effective than typing messages back and forth.

4.    Employers, Your Employees’ Lack Of Productivity Might Be All On You - On average, employees who do the majority of their work on computers are distracted once every 10 and a half minutes. Twenty-three percent of those interruptions come from email, but the biggest source of interruptions by far come from…ourselves.

5.    You’re A Lot More Qualified For Your Dream Job Than You Think -  There’s a rush of emotions you feel when you find the perfect job listing. Then there’s another whole rush when you see that you’re not exactly qualified for the role. In these cases, it’s only natural to close the window and just assume you’ll never get it. But that’s the wrong move.

We are in the Skills Business!

Through recruitment, training and consulting, Timeo-Performance provides solutions for increased performance of companies, teams, and individuals. As our clients are in the center of global business and often serve the APAC region, our solutions need to be sustainable in a multicultural and remote context.

Our joint venture with Akteos, the European leader in intercultural training, and partnership with digital learning solutions provider CrossKnowledge have therefore been organic and logical additions to our service. Timeo-Performance has been helping companies in APAC increase business performance since 2008 with offices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

We love what we do, feel the Timeo-Performance experience!

As busy professionals, our schedules are often filled to the brim with meetings and tasks to complete. We can get so caught up with work that we might even forget our all-important lunch and power through dinner as well. Alas, we can only do so much given the 24 hours we have in a day. While time management is vital, being productive is another matter in its entirety.Enter time batching.
