My Top Reads of the Past Week: Candidate experience

With the employee experience going mainstream as one of the biggest HR trends in 2018, the information and resources needed for a successful employee journey can feel overwhelming at times. I found the below employee journey map very helpful by breaking down the employee journey into concrete objectives.

Today I would like to focus on the first step in the journey, the candidate experience.

We at Timeo-Performance Recruiting make ongoing communication with our candidates our #1 priority. Numerous surveys of job seekers showed that lack of communication and care is the key for an unsuccessful candidate experience. Why should you care?

79% of respondents are unlikely to accept a job offer if they were treated poorly during the recruitment process.  Just 14% would remain a customer of a company if they had a bad experience as a candidate, more than half (51%) would actually be likely to urge their friends and family members to stop being a customer.

I have curated a list of great articles from across the web to show the importance of the candidate experience and how to easily implement improvements.

1. 4 candidate experience benefits automation

The technology that drives automation lets you work smarter. And that boosts one of the most important trends in sourcing and hiring: the candidate experience. Here are four ways automation helps you create a better candidate (and employee) experience that supports your employer brand.

2. The reason why 79% of candidates won't accept your job offer

This article shows how critical it is for organisations to place a strong emphasis on the candidate experience during the recruiting process. Whilst just over a tenth (14%) would remain a customer of a company if they had a bad experience as a candidate, more than half (51%) would actually be likely to urge their friends and family members to stop being a customer.

3. The biggest recruitment lessons of 2017

The Candidate is king - Failing to follow up every engaged candidate can be incredibly detrimental – a recent survey by CareerArc found 60% of the surveyed candidates had had a poor candidate experience, and 72% of those shared that experience online or by word-of-mouth.

Facebook is the #1 Best Place to Work in 2018. Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg (COO) and Lori Goler (VP of People) share with Glassdoor CEO Robert Hohman what sets the company apart as the #1 Best Place to Work in 2018. The company looks for skills over experience.

We are in the Skills Business!

Through recruitment, training and consulting, Timeo-Performance provides solutions for increased performance of companies, teams, and individuals. As our clients are in the center of global business and often serve the APAC region, our solutions need to be sustainable in a multicultural and remote context.

Our joint venture with Akteos, the European leader in intercultural training, and partnership with digital learning solutions provider CrossKnowledge have therefore been organic and logical additions to our service. Timeo-Performance has been helping companies in APAC increase business performance since 2008 with offices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

We love what we do, feel the Timeo-Performance experience!

As busy professionals, our schedules are often filled to the brim with meetings and tasks to complete. We can get so caught up with work that we might even forget our all-important lunch and power through dinner as well. Alas, we can only do so much given the 24 hours we have in a day. While time management is vital, being productive is another matter in its entirety.Enter time batching.
