Our client is hiring a

Sales Development Manager

To be based in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia






The Sales Manager manages and leads the retail doors of the brand, divided into 4 channels: Retail, Boutiques, Travel Retail, and Department Store.

You will:

Business Acumen

  • Can develop a retail strategy with a clear course of action, execute it, communicate it, and achieve the sales goals, while ensuring to work within the budget allocated for the sales team
  • Must achieve monthly and yearly sales targets
  • Able to influence others (retail team, office team, retailers and other partners) through collaboration as opposed to command and control
  • Ensure that retail promotions and activities are planned based on sales goals and previous years’ sales
  • Ensure stock levels are accurate and sufficient, and that Top 50 SKUs are always in stock
  • Able to effectively lead teams to ensure that goals are met


Management and Results

  • Lead by example, run a day on counter using Brand’s 8 Steps In a Successful Day for sales managers
  • Teach, coach, motivate, and develop our own retail teams and retail members
  • Consistently review the team’s performance to drive individual performance improvement, based on brand’s guidelines
  • Sets the productivity goals and measures individuals and team success according to the goals
  • Able to assess and adjust goals as the team changes, grows, and develops
  • Keep commitment and build high expectations for self and others


Communication and Relationship

  • Must orient, develop, and retain people at all levels
  • Must establish and maintain good working relationship between team members
  • Must display an approachable manner to build an effective 2-way communication path between herself and others
  • Able to express ideas and information clearly and effectively
  • Ensure that all counters are appropriately staffed with the right people in a timely manner and with the right support
  • Follow all company and store policies and procedures
  • Negotiate staffing levels based on productivity targets, trends, and opportunities


Training and Coaching

  • Build a trained and educated staff through close coaching
  • Identify further training needs from the Training Team through sharing of MJSF or In-Store Visit results
  • Ensure that the Brand motto which also translates to our specific Sell strategies, are actively used for all trainings
  • Coach and maintain the consistent use and uphold standards of specific Sell strategies
  • Inspire and coach the retail team by setting the example of excellent service and sales

  • University degree holder or equivalent academic qualifications
  • More than 6 years of retail management experience
  • Cosmetics experience preferred but not required
  • Proven sales and service track record
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Fluent English - written and spoken.  Mandarin, dialects, Bahasa a plus
  • Confident, creative, enthusiastic team player
  • Make-Up Savvy; make-up expertise background will be a plus
  • Proficient at reading and analysing numbers and business reports
  • Must have strong indirect or direct management experience demonstrated by positive sales or services performance
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Mobile and has a valid Passport
  • High level of personal presentation
  • Flexibility on work hours
